Understanding engineered wood flooring cost starts with the three factors that influence price: wear layer thickness, core material, and finish quality.

1.Low-end :

Thin 1.5mm–2mm oak veneer is best for bedrooms or low-traffic areas. Not refinishable.

2.Mid-range :

3mm–4mm sawn-cut oak veneer. Multi-ply birch core. Factory UV-cured finish. Can be sanded once.

3.Premium :

4mm–6mm wire-brushed or hand-scraped , white oak, or French oak. Cross-layered core with waterproof coating. Suitable for refinishing twice.

4.Installation costs:

– DIY floating

– Professional glue-down

– Professional staple-down over plywood

Over 25 years, engineered wood flooring cost averages  cheaper than replacing laminate every 10–12 years.
